HMT St Hugh’s Hospital is hosting a free training session for theatre practitioners, including perioperative nurses, on Wednesday 6th December 2017.
The hour-long event, which will take place at the Grimsby hospital from 7pm, will provide an opportunity for theatre practitioners to gain hands-on experience of using the specialist medical saws and drills used by surgeons during a range of procedures, in a stress-free environment.
There will be a talk, drill demonstrations and a Q&A on the PFC Knee System by Berrand Parry from DePuy Synthes as well as the latest training on sawing through bone by Graham Bell from Stryker.
Susan Wilson, Theatre Manager at HMT St Hugh’s Hospital, said: “I’m really looking forward to welcoming local practitioners to our free training session. It’s a great opportunity for nurses to gain hands-on experience of the equipment they’re setting out for surgeons and to ask more detailed questions.
“Attendees will receive a course certificate, which will count towards their revalidation training for the year, as they gain more knowledge in their field.”
Anyone interested in attending the session should contact Susan Wilson by email firstname.lastname@example.org to secure a free place.
Free car parking is available at the hospital on Peaks Lane, in Grimsby, DN32 9RP.
